Privacy policy

In short
H2Bro has no account, no servers, no analytics and no ads. Nothing you enter in the app is sent to us, and we can't see it.
Who is responsible
H2Bro is made by Markus Moltke (Moldal). For anything about your privacy, write to markus@moltke.dk.
What the app stores, and where
Drinks you log are saved in your phone's health store. On iPhone that is Apple Health: water as Dietary Water, caffeine as Dietary Caffeine and alcohol as Alcoholic Beverages. On Android it is Health Connect: water as Hydration and caffeine as Nutrition; alcohol stays on the phone, because Health Connect can't store it. The app also reads these to show your day, including drinks logged by other apps.
Your hydration profile (sex, whether you're pregnant or breastfeeding, and how active you are) is used only to work out your daily goal. It stays on your phone and is never synced.
Your presets, reminder times and goal are kept in your own iCloud account on iPhone, so they follow you to your other Apple devices. On Android they stay on the phone and are included in Android's backup to your Google account.
How health data is used
H2Bro reads and writes health data only to show your progress and calculate your goal. It is never sold, shared, used for advertising, or used to make decisions about you, such as for insurance or employment.
You choose what the app may read and write, and can change that at any time: on iPhone in the Health app under Sharing → Apps → H2Bro, on Android in Health Connect's app permissions.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your phone. No push service is involved, and tapping a reminder's buttons logs the drink on the device.
This website
h2bro.org uses no cookies, analytics or tracking. Our host, Vercel, processes your IP address and request details to deliver the pages and keep them secure, as any web server does.
Links to other sites
The sources cited in the app open in your browser. Those sites have their own policies.
Deleting your data
Swipe a drink away on the Today screen, or delete it in Apple Health or Health Connect. Uninstalling the app removes everything it kept on the phone. On iPhone, remove the synced presets and settings in Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → H2Bro; on Android, delete the app's backup in your Google account's backup settings.
Your rights
Because we don't receive any of your data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side; everything above is in your control on your own devices and accounts. If you have questions or want to complain, contact us at the address above. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
H2Bro isn't aimed at children, and it can track alcohol.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears here and in the app with a new date.
